About the Event

Join us for a day filled with world-class golf, meaningful connections and a shared mission to support families facing cancer. Whether you're hitting the course for team-building with colleagues, hosting clients for networking or simply enjoying a great day of golf with friends, you’ll be in great company!

Beyond the fairways, this tournament is about something greater—helping families find respite in the midst of cancer. Pete Bossow Jr.’s journey in 1998 inspired a movement that continues today, and FPS is making history by building the nation’s first Cancer Respite Center in partnership with Woodloch. Don’t miss this incredible day of golf, giving back and celebrating 26 years of impact!

Commonwealth National Golf Club

Format: 2 Best Balls of 4 (More Competitive)
Strategic • Competitive • Skill-Based

Designed for experienced golfers who want a challenge and enjoy a little friendly competition.

-Each player plays their own ball throughout the round.
-On each hole, the two lowest net scores from your foursome count toward the team score.
-The Callaway Handicap System ensures an even playing field.

Ideal for golfers who enjoy strategy, consistency, and team dynamics with a competitive edge.

Old York Road Country Club

Format: Scramble (Less Competitive)

Perfect for golfers of all skill levels, especially those looking for a casual, social round.

Gerardi Founders Award

We are honored to present the Gerardi Founders Award to the Committee of Explorers (COE)—a group of La Salle University alumni and proud brothers of Sigma Phi Lambda, La Salle’s first and only local fraternity.

Pete Bossow, for whom this tournament and our organization are named, was a beloved member of this fraternity. Since his passing, many of his fraternity brothers—through the COE—have continued to support For Pete’s Sake in his memory. Their lasting commitment to our mission, and their shared belief in providing hope and respite to families facing cancer, truly exemplify the spirit of the Gerardi Founder’s Award.

Who was Peter R. Bossow, Jr?

In 1998, Pete faced cancer. By 1999, he was gone. In that short span, he felt the weight of exhaustion, fear, and sadness familiar to many battling cancer. Yet amidst this turmoil, a respite experience provided by loved ones allowed Pete and his wife Marci to momentarily escape the clutches of illness. Rediscovering their identity beyond cancer, they found strength and renewal.

After their revitalizing respite, Pete was determined to offer others the chance to rejuvenate their minds, bodies, and spirits just as he had. Marci made a solemn vow to Pete, pledging to devote her entire life to fulfilling his dream. Now, a quarter-century later, Pete's legacy endures, impacting countless adult cancer patients and their caregivers with the gift of joy through transformative respite.

Thank you to our committee!
